Perhaps it’s wishful thinking, but we’re looking forward to an early Spring. After all, the official first day is just three weeks away, as the days get longer and our tolerance for being outside edges ever skyward. Like the appearance of the first crocuses forcing their way through the last remains of dirty snow, or the evening chorus of spring peepers beginning the ritual of their cacophonous symphony, so, too is Dunkin’ Donuts putting some motherfucking shamrocks onto some donuts. The brand’s March menu also brings the new Vanilla Truffle Donut, featuring a yeast shell donut filled with vanilla flavored buttercreme, frosted with chocolate icing and topped with white and dark chocolate curls. Donut fans are also in luck with the return of the Shamrock Sprinkle Donut, a yeast ring donut frosted with chocolate icing and topped with special shamrock sprinkles, and Dunkin’ Donuts’ Chocolate Filled Croissant, a flaky croissant filled with dark chocolate, served warm. All are available for a limited time at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide.
It sounds like the new offerings will be available through the month of March, so if nothing gets your blood moving quite like the phrase “yeast ring,” we’ll be sure to see you at Dunkin’ Donuts, where we’ll be ringing in the new season/eating emotionally.
